Challenge Sailcloth allocates tremendous resources to Research and Development. We have brought together the best minds in the industry, combining the skills of a robust team of sailor-engineers. Among many other talented people, our R&D team benefits from the expertise of a PhD Physicist, former U.S. Military electrician, Olympic Class sailor, world class ocean racer, National champion sailor, four-time U.S. Collegiate All American sailor, world ranking F-18 Racer, former Deloitte Senior Consultant, organic chemist, and industry leading global logistics professionals.

Diversity of experience powers great teams. At Challenge, we focus the skill sets of extraordinary individuals on developing the best materials in the world.

Every detail matters and every customer is of paramount importance to our engineers. Each raw material we choose is used for a specific purpose. Sailcloth for a dinghy will be designed and produced a different way than sailcloth for a super-yacht, but the care in design is the same. We remain committed to super tenacity, ultimate breaking levels, threadline strength, performance, durability, tightly woven sailcloth, bias stability, UV resistance, and shape holding ability. We carefully control every step in the production cycle, from raw material selection, weaving, finishing & laminating, to quality assurance and logistics.
