| During resin impregnation the fabric is immersed in a bath of suspended resin. The resin is absorbed into the yarns. The amount of resin determines the firmness of the finished sailcloth. | In the pre-fatigued finish, a super-firm formula of resin is used, which, after curing, is beat up by the steel buttons of the button breaker. The remaining resin is well bonded, and the finish is tough and durable. | The finish is so durable that a more severe impact flutter machine was necessary to sufficiently abuse flutter samples so as to show a gap between initial and fluttered sample graph curves on some fabrics. |
